Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
- Everything Kiki knows about you stays in your browser, on your device.
- No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. We never sell data.
- Only if you buy the optional Kiki Plus: ExtensionPay and Stripe handle the payment and your email.
This policy explains how the Chrome extension “Kiki the Focus Cat” (“Kiki”), made by Draur (“we”, “us”), handles your information.
What Kiki stores on your device
Kiki saves the following in your browser's extension storage (chrome.storage) so it can work. It is not sent to us or to anyone else:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Kiki's state: mood, friendship level, coat, outfit, streaks, counts of pets, snacks and games | To keep your cat the way you left him |
| Focus history: minutes focused per day, rounds finished, how many distractions were shooed away (a number, not which sites) | For your daily goal, streak and weekly chart |
| The task you type for a focus round and up to 5 daily priorities | To show them back to you |
| Water glasses logged today | For the break coach |
| Your settings, including the list of sites you want the distraction guard to cover | To run the features the way you chose |
This data is deleted when you uninstall Kiki. You can also clear it from Chrome's extension settings.
The distraction guard (optional)
The guard is off until you switch it on. When you do, Chrome asks your permission for each site on your list. During a focus round, if you open one of those sites, Chrome shows Kiki's “back to work” page instead. That page receives the address you were opening, only so “Let me in for 5 minutes” can take you there. Kiki does not save or send that address. It only adds 1 to today's “shooed away” count. Kiki does not read the content of web pages or your browsing history, and does nothing on sites that are not on your list.
Stretch reminders and idle state
To suggest a stretch after a long stretch of computer use, Kiki asks Chrome whether the computer is active or idle (Chrome's idle API). It does not see what you are doing, and this information never leaves your device.
Notifications and sounds
Notifications are created on your device and can be turned off in Kiki's settings. Kiki's purring and other sounds are generated on your device. Nothing is downloaded or uploaded.
Kiki Plus payments (optional)
Kiki Plus is an optional one-time purchase. Payments are handled by ExtensionPay and processed by Stripe. When you buy or restore Plus, you enter your email address and payment details on their secure pages. Kiki never sees your card details.
- ExtensionPay stores your email address and purchase status so Kiki can confirm Plus, including on your other computers.
- Kiki stores a random ExtensionPay key in Chrome's sync storage and a “Plus is active” flag on your device.
- As the seller, we can see your email address and purchase record in our ExtensionPay and Stripe dashboards. We use them only to provide Kiki Plus, support and refunds.
ExtensionPay and Stripe handle this data under their own privacy policies.
What we never do
- We do not sell or transfer your data to third parties, except the payment providers above for the purchase you make.
- We do not use or transfer your data for purposes unrelated to Kiki's features.
- We do not use or transfer your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
- We do not use your data for advertising.
Kiki's use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Children
Kiki is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date above. If Kiki ever needs to handle data differently, we will tell you in the extension first.
